Thank you everyone
of course they've only been in the tank a few days and have already trashed all my natural moss and knocked down a lot of the hanging moss. I've also somehow damaged one of my digital hygrometers. I never directly misted it but in the digital readout parts of some of the numbers are missing.

Before throwing it out make sure you change the battery to see if that's a problem. I've had mine since December (?) and it's starting to go funny due to battery issues.Visual wrote:Thank you everyoneof course they've only been in the tank a few days and have already trashed all my natural moss and knocked down a lot of the hanging moss. Ooh thank you! I should check that. They are new batteries but that's never stopped things from failing before.PinchersAndShells wrote:Before throwing it out make sure you change the battery to see if that's a problem. No, these have magnets on the back and I have them suspended on the back of the tank. One up high and the messed up one lower down but not touching the sub.Giner13 wrote:Oh no!! I can see it now...."new place!! Let's trash it guys!"

[quote="Visual"]There is approximately 15" of sub in a tank that's 11" deep x 35" wide x 59" tall
The pics are ok but I think I can do better the daylight. There would be less glare on the plexi.

Oh my goodness, I'm so jealous!!! My crabitat is a 30 gal. storage tote I bought from the dollar store I cut up, glued, and suction-cupped. It's cheap, but it works pretty well. The coolest thing I have in there is a bubble feature in the saltwater pool and a burlap canopy/ balcony/ hammock thing. I'm a broke college kid and I'm trying to save up for a 40 gal. aquarium, even though my room is tiny and I have no idea where exactly I'm going to put it, my hermit crabs deserve better than tupperware.

Where do you live if you don't mind me asking? And you are giving them better than the pet store!! Don't beat yourself up too badly.erin.leaman wrote:Visual wrote:There is approximately 15" of sub in a tank that's 11" deep x 35" wide x 59" tall

Re: Building a Crabby Paradise
I live in Virginia, I try to give them the best home I can and I can honestly say, that it is a much better life than the pet store I got them from, however, I think that they could be much happier! I just bought a 4 foot long tank that is due to arrive on the 17th. After 2 molting casualties and another in critical, I got fed up with my cheap but semi-adequate habitat and I am upgrading absolutely everything that a jobless college kid can.
By the way, gorgeous pictures!
