Update : The ChelSEA Hotel is finished! I took a few photos as I went.
#1) lifting this 50lb monster was a job for hubby. But it was set in its final corner. Ultratherm already on with a bit of foamcore backing. I figure ill add more insulation if needed. Left short side (w wheel) also covered with foamcore. (As you can see i left the price tag on foam & taped it up. Classic me)

#2
Long view rt to lt
The wheel is so big its too big. Apparently this tank is only 13" tall. So i had to make the area by the wheel shallow to accommodate the wheel. Going to put the water dishes there too so they cant burrow under them. The Rt of the tank is 5-7"

#3 This stuff is
just here for placement. Im still getting humidity under control. Its holding for day 2 about 80/81F no heat. Its set to go to 90-95F in NYC this week. So the Hotel is open for business. All my guys are awake so no time like the present.
http://imgur.com/jm8I5sa
When they go in of course i will take pics. Im sure they will be scared at first. But once they settle. I know they're going to love it.

I'm the one with the 40B topper lol. It's exactly half of my 125G. I can relate... Setting that up was a job! I think I'm the only one with a topper that huge tho. I've seen a few others but never over 20.CrabMater wrote:Thanks Daws. My first "big" tank.daws409 wrote:Looks good! They'll definitely love it

Re: The ChelSEA Hotel: UNDER CONSTRUCTION
That looks great! Love the decor like foam! Just like a hotel!
The only thing I would like to mention is it looks like your wheel is hanging by duct tape. That may work temporarily, but not in the long run. I use a command strip hook for mine, and then I secure it by using rope and then duct tape. Even then sometimes those fail me.

Its totally duct tape. )
I am looking for the velcro command strips. My building permits allow for temporary duct tape suspension.
Im adding another (to make 7) ee brick. Tat seems too dry. 10gal had humidity probs until i made sub deep enough. Going to actually learn from my mistakes.

That tank looks gorgeous!!! What a lot of room, with fun things to climb and do! If I were a crab, I'd love it!

Re: The ChelSEA Hotel: UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Thanks! Looked nicer than my apt. So of course you know ive torn the whole thing down since those pics RH fluxing too much. Sterilized the beach sand in their 10g while they were exploring. I had set up an Iso ( im up to 3 tanks, so im an official Crabber now) sterilized sand now in 40b HOPEFULLY w help keep RH in mid 80s where i like it. Little more texture too. Ill upload some pics once my hands get some feeling in them.Hermias_mom wrote:That tank looks gorgeous!!! What a lot of room, with fun things to climb and do! If I were a crab, I'd love it!
