Hello crabbers, do any of y'all know where I can buy premade pools that have declines that lead into the pools? I've tried doing the DIY pools, but mine always leak water into my substrate. So I want to buy it from a master glass maker. Any websites or stores y'all can recommend?
Thank you!
Salt and fresh water pools
Re: Salt and fresh water pools
I been looking for something like that since we got our crabs about a year ago. I am reasonably sure nothing that suits the needs of crabbers exists. While there are a couple dishes like you describe, they are not deep enough. The one's that are close to deep enough are huge and would only work in a very large tank.hamtaro wrote:Hello crabbers, do any of y'all know where I can buy premade pools that have declines that lead into the pools? Most people use Tupperware type containers with craft mesh so the crabs can get in and out. Some use safe silicone to glue rocks and stuff to make them more decorative.

I've had the same reusable gladware containers in my tank for almost 3 years. I use plastic needlepoint canvas and shells.

Maybe those glass cooking bowls or pans if you want all glass?

Depending on how big your tank is, I definitely suggest looking at glass cookware! You might not find anything that has an incline but you should definitely be able to find something deep enough.
I picked up two glass loaf pans and a shallow cake pan that they fit in quite nicely. Siliconed aquarium gravel inside the loaf pans and will be using those as pools. With the shallow cake pan acting as a base, I'll be able to easily take the pools out for cleaning without disturbing the substrate.
Check out local habitat resale, goodwill, and thrift stores! You never know what kind of oldie but goodie treasures you'll find there.
