Second crab molters successfully?

Post by devdev24 » Sat Jun 24, 2017 10:18 pm

I accidentally uncovered Draco while cleaning the tank a few days ago so I put him in iso with his remnants of exo and he dug down almost immediately . Well when I checked the iso a little bit ago he was out and about with normal coloring as opposed to the whitish color he was when I uncovered him. I'm wondering if he's okay to go back in the main tank?Image

I would say if he's out and about then yes :) Just dip him in the freshwater of the crabitat before adding him. Congratulations on the successful molt! Image

the one time i had an iso i waited til she was eating food, normal color and not hiding then i uncovered her iso so she came out on her own time. (none of the other crabs were showing her any interest so i decided not to bath her. personally i try not to bath my hermits unless i have to).

He's eaten all except a leg and some pieces of the small claw. I'm going to dip him in the water and add him back. Is it okay to add the leftover exo to the food bowl in the tank?

Yes. I personally have never done that, but I have seen someone else say that they have! Once again, congrats on the molt! Image

Thank you it's my second successful one to resurface this week. These last few months have been stressful waiting for them to surface.

the waiting is the worst! i know crabs will not only eat each other and other species; they will scavenge other species exos. alaskin crab (?) sells a crab exo mix of different species. congrats on your crabs molts! post some pictures when you can!
