How do I tell if my crab is surface molting?

How do I tell if my crab is surface molting?

Shellby hasn't moved in days, and I'm actually super worried. She isn't dead (no smell). She is completely inside of her shell. She is partially on the sand and partially on top of her hide out).

How deep is your substrate? And other tank conditions?

Actually, this got fixed! I added some moss and she was fine! Thank you, though!
