First Successful Molt! (I think)

Post by NotaHoser » Fri Jul 21, 2017 2:01 pm

Well, my 2 PPs promptly changed into identical green turbos, and buried themselves once I got them into their new tank. They've been down for about 3 weeks now (maybe a bit under, I didn't log it like I should have), and one finally came up just now! Can't tell if it's Bob or Guido (Bob is a bit bigger, and a bit shyer, at least he was pre-molt), but whoever it is has bright color and sharp little black nails, so I think I had a successful molt!

The banana dance is remarkably similar to the actual dance I did around my room when I saw my crabbie. :D

Yea for you!!! Little black tips are so fun!!! It's such a relief, isn't it? Especially that first molt! Little black tips and hairy bodies. Yea!

When you get a minute, a fun thing to do is check and see if they have eyelashes. It's really bristles at the base of the eyestalks, but I swear, it really does look like eyelashes. Some have them, some don't. :)
4PPs and tons of FUN in a 29 gallon!

Ooh, I'll have to check for that. He's still a bit shy, but he's checking out one of the hemp climbing nets I put in while he was down. Not sure if he's munching or debating a climb, but when I can get a good look at his eyes, I'll look for lashes. Thanks for letting me know!
