You mean your play sand is moist? Or do you have some pet sand?
When crabs are down molting, and there is no activity in the tank, us crabbers refer to our crabitats as pet sand

Thank you for clearing that up I was so confused for the longest time

One of my crabs is surface molting, and while it's incredibly stressful for both of us, it got better last night. When i got home from work, she was out of her shell completely as far as i could tell. This morning she was mostly black in her shell!! I'll still be glad when this process is done

i was just wondering if you guys keep food in the tank at all times? we do, and im assuming everyone else would so they arent tempted to eat any of their biddues, but i have been reading through and seeing how actively everyones crabs are at eating the new food you put in. my crabs were happy to eat in front of us the first week we brought them home(assuming they were starving from being at petco) but now if i do happen to walk up on them eating they often hide or duck and roll away in their shells, lol. at most i have seen one eating but never a dinner party like i see pictures of other crabs on here!

I keep food in the tank at all times but of my 5 crabs only two are comfortable with me watching and If I move too fast even they will run away. I think it just depends on their personality and how comfortable they are with you

My crabs, Hermione and Spot are both in their "backyards". Shelldon has finally come back up from his tunnel (that he put under the salt water dish, when he tried to get back up he almost spilled it all over). He finally came out of his shell today, he's super shy.

(Left to right) Clawford, Scout, and Toa are all eating their organic baby food! I put it in and 5 minutes later 3 of the 4 crabs are running to the dish! Tama is swimming because he has to be different!!!

Wow! I got to know, what flavor is it? I've got some organic mango baby puree I haven't tried yet!

Grocery store? It's organic baby food. Look for single ingredient and organic.
