Sleeping Shell in Shell

Post by NotaHoser » Fri Aug 04, 2017 4:00 pm

So, once my guys discovered their second floor shell shop, they've been sleeping up there almost exclusively. What's striking me as odd/funny is that both of them, on different nights, have slept with their shells facing inside a larger shell in the shop. So...they're in a shell, half-inside another shell.

Does that make sense?

Is that weird?

crabs are weird. no sense trying to figure them out. my guys are happy when they feel safe and snug and that usually means something over them or they are under/inside something. these animals are prey so they are skittish. i jusy provide plenty of hides and watch their antics. i literally never know where im going to find one next.

It's become a game between my husband and I: where are the crabs now? He, who was so against them in the first place, checks them out every time he walks past their tank. :hlol:

My crabs love to do that too! Sometimes my tiny ones sit all the way inside a giant shell I have. I'm afraid they're going to get stuck one day!

I'm so glad it's not just mine. I'm also worried he's going to get stuck; it seems like a tight fit. He's also usually up and about by now, but he's still in there. :?

I love this! Now I know my husbands not the only one. He may think I'm crazy but my husband sure is amused by my crabbies!

Just when I thought he really might be stuck, out he came, and started scaling the tiki hut again.

(I really have no clue how he's doing that; there's nothing that I can see for him to hold on to.)
