I always liked the turtle mixes that are dried crickets, shrimp and mealworms. My crabs go nuts over it, and it gives a good selection in one purchase.

Raw salmon, dried krill and boiled chicken seem to get eaten the most in my tank lately.

Was the squirrel raw, dehydrated or cooked? Just curious...wolfnipplechips wrote:Mine go nuts for raw fish most of the time. They also enjoyed squirrel recently.

Octopus, dehydrated duck wing (with tendons, bone, skin), bloodworms, any animal dried & powdered, and greasy dried halibut with skin.
Edit - re: squirrel - muscle, skin, organs? Fur?? So curious.
My dad says squirrels aren't good eating. But he doesn't like roti or sushi, so I don't trust any of his gastronomic advice.

Gave them a couple skinned back legs, raw, bone and all. They fought over them and drug them off. Never saw any leftovers.

My crabs arent crazy over fish. They will eat it but usually lasts awhile. They really like red meat. Pork is a favorite over all and turkey oddly enough.

Goose was big with mine last Christmas, but at the time I had two. I also don't see much interest in raw or cooked fish - dried, and fish oils (i.e. salmon, cod liver) are attacked usually.

My animal protein so far has been fish. tuna sea bass shell on shrimp and whole pulverized oyster. I still haven't seen much of them at all and I'm learning about them everyday but I think they have been preferring Flora over fauna. Maybe I will change to a red meat and see how they like it.

The path of experience leads to the tower of wisdom.... keep experimenting, and don't give up entirely on something they seem disinterested in right now: they may like it at some other point in time.DaJimmer wrote:My animal protein so far has been fish. tuna sea bass shell on shrimp and whole pulverized oyster. Moult cycles can have an effect on food preferences.
Edit - the humidity of their environment also plays a part in their appetites insofar as higher humidity facilitates their sense of smell, which they use to find fuds. Just an info-tidbit.
