Your supposed to have as many crabs as it takes.

I have 4 small pp

Tips include:
5 gallons per crab or more (depending on species)
At least 2 of each species you own. (Crabby buddy system. 2pp with 2 E with 2 straw)
read read read search search search :D

I had to move an extremely disgruntled crab to her own tank 2 days ago. I'm not sure yet what to do. I was thinking, would love your thoughts, maybe if I find her a buddy now, she will already have "seniority". She is, well, was very very aggressive to the other 4. Hmm... Is there something to 1 odd one?

I hace found over the years that crabs of the same size have more problems then crabs of different sizes.... probably sue to not completing (much) for the same resources.

So, I wonder what you would do in this case. Would you find an aggressive larger size pp a buddy? Do you think you would have taken her out? Just wondering. I hope I'm doing the right thing. Sure not very much black and white in owning hermit crabs is there?

Since i dont have PPs i cant not answer for this species but ill answer as broadly as i can, without going species specific.
It depends on why they are aggressive. Many times it just a dominance display, which we confuse with aggression. Other times, it might be due to the owner not giving the crabs something they want - shells, hiding places or food... sometimes they can be aggressive when new, and once moulted calm down a lot.
Having a large tank helps, since they have more places for alone time or to have space.
Crabs of the same size will utilise the same resources - like shells, which many fights start from. Crabs of different sizes will use different resources. However if large crabs continue to be aggressive, and only option is to set up their own tank id wpuld go with tank mates that are larger than the aggressor.
Black and white do not go with animals in general, unfortunately. Its just with other pets we have some idea on their behaviour and them in general.

Would a small crab with a big crab be considered company for the small or big crab?
One or hopefully two Clypeatus
Goodbye my little E. See you soon.
Bye Fred. You lasted almost 4 years with me. Hope you're with my E now! See you soon Reeba as well. I can't believe I lost you only after a month.

If they are the same species, then yep.

my crab who has been bullying my others just needed a new shell... i was hesitant to believe that it was all he was missing beacsue of the large amount of shells we already had in the tank, but as soon as i got more (specifically the same kind as the crabs he was bullying were wearing) he immidiately switched shells and layed off the other crabs. i would take a look at what your tank/crab might be needing and try that
