The escapist

Post by sierra » Sun Dec 03, 2017 3:25 am

Hermine wants nothing more than to climb out of her habitat. She has escaped a few times. Lucky we keep a close eye on her so she doesn't make it far. I finally got her food figured out and she's been a lot more active. She is climbing on everything and testing her boundaries. Every time I put something new in her habitat she finds a way to use it to get out. Should I just buckle down and buy a bigger tank and find room for it? And yes I moved the power strip away from the tank so she can not get to it.ImageImageImage

If your budget allows and you have the room, an upgrade never hurts...
Have you though of increasing the amount of decor in the tank, to give her something to do - its rather bare.... so she may be escaping due to 'boredom'...

Maybe a modified hamster/mouse wheel?

Are you using a lid? They are capable of climbing the bare silicone in the corners!

Agree - I had escapees all the time til I got a secure lid (though a larger space certainly helped). Figure out how the crab is getting out & fix that.
