Exotic Hermit Crabs?
So I've recently become obsessed with exotic Hermit crabs and was wondering if any place online sells them? I've looked almost everywhere with no luck. I wouldn't be looking to impulse buy as it's too cold for shipping ATM, so I'd really just want to see how much they cost and stuff. Thanks for any feedback in advance

I do not personally support or recommend any online crab vendors and highly encourage adopting locally.

Thanks, I adopt when I'm able too, but it's always pp's. I'm aware alot of people don't recommend buying, but I'd like to have a different species in my tank and I've never seen any exotics on Craigslist and stuff, but thanks for your input

It took 3 years of adopting locally to come across straws.
Please consider that these crabs have already been shipped around the world far from their natural habitats.
I've yet to come across an online vendor that is reputable and treats their crabs humanely.

Re: Exotic Hermit Crabs?
For what it's worth, I have come across a straw adoption in the last year: they do happen. You may have to be willing to drive a ways, and cast a wide net. Regular scouting of online buy & sells as well as crab groups like this one and those on Facebook are likely your best bet. Patience is a must. The only straws I've seen in pet stores were going for about CAD $ 40, and they really weren't in good shape. Id have expected all of them to be fatalities within a week or two. It was pretty depressing.
My point being that from a not-potentially-wasting-your-money perspective, an adoption may work out better. Crabs that have made the transition to captivity will likely be hardier.

I'm aware lol, I'm obviously taking it into consideration or else I wouldn't have asked heresoilentgringa wrote:It took 3 years of adopting locally to come across straws.

Thank you! Patience is definitely a must, I agree. That's why I'm on here asking and trying to get help from knowledgeable people. Little crabby lives arent worthless to me, I love them so much. I've been checking Craigslist and here for exotics for about a few months. No luck yet, therefore I'm here asking about online vendors
