Cool. How do you get them interested in the shell shop? Mine don't even know it exists.

Hi. about a week ago I went through the wearable shell list and realised that most of my shells are unsuitable for my hermits. I made an order at the Naples seashell company and ordered 16 new shells (I made sure that the ones that I ordered are not gold mouthed). I ordered a lot of turbo shells in varying sizes, so hopefully when the order arrives, my hermits will be interested in the new shells.soilentgringa wrote:I see a lot of shells pictured, but most of them are either unpopular or unwearable. The pearled turbos would be worn but the others just aren't very sought after by hermits unless they have no other options.
I'd recommend finding more turbos. (Not gold mouthed.)

Thanks! I always find that when I get a tank upgrade, or move the shell shop around in the tank, suddenly all of my crabs immediately go over to the shells and start inspecting all of them before making a shell swap. It's interesting because if I give it a week or 2, and have left the shells in one area of the tank, they act like the shells aren't even there! I always find it helpful to move the shells around in the tank every now and then to try and spark some interestHermiesguardian wrote:Angel_crab wrote:HelloI took this picture when I had set up my new tank about a month ago, and half of my crabs were in the shell shop exploring. If you go into the "shell" forum, the second post at the top has a guide called "shells - favourite shells, those to avoid and IDs". This is where you can find a list of preferred shells for different species of hermit crabsaslansgirl89 wrote:Where is the "wearable shell list"?Angel_crab wrote:Hi. about a week ago I went through the wearable shell list and realised that most of my shells are unsuitable for my hermits.
