SoloCrab's Crabitat

Post by piratetoothgir » Tue Apr 10, 2018 7:17 am

writing this for @solocrab

My brother has wanted his very own terrarium pets about three weeks ago, and we searched for the right option.
We didn't want to choose anything we didn't know how to minutely care for, such as an exotic frog or gecko species.
He wanted something that was simple, but fun to actually own, and that I would be able to assist with maintenance wise.

He decided to go with hermit crabs because I already know how to care for them and give them a correct diet.
I thought it was a perfect choice, and easy for both of us. So we decided on that and went with our plans by ordering everything he needed.
Orders came in a few days ago, around the weekend, giving us time to assemble things before we went shopping.

Just hit the shops yesterday, and got the decorations he wanted, and many more.
We started setting it up when we got back, and here's what he created.

I think the blue food dish makes an excellent contrast between the greenery, and makes things show up.

Thanks, Aussie!
I really like it too, so does my brother. He will be going to pick out some crabs in about a week, once we install his heater.

Thinking about getting 3-4 crabs, it's a 29 gallon.

Hi! I'm into hermit crabs and I mostly am focusing on making my 29-gallon tank the best home for my hermit crabs!

A 29g is a great starter tank IMO. Cab easily handle 3-4 for a while and give them loads of room!
