New babies! Are they Ruggies?

Post by Visual » Wed Apr 18, 2018 12:22 pm

Image

Well I only managed to get an image of one but this is Walter. I got them from a beach shop Image I was sure they were Ruggies and they looked healthy. I could not imagine leaving them there. Sorry for the grainy pic, night images aren’t the best. And thankfully he finally changed shells from his original pink one.

Might be an Ecuadorian. They are fun to have!
One or hopefully two Clypeatus
Goodbye my little E. See you soon.
Bye Fred. You lasted almost 4 years with me. Hope you're with my E now! See you soon Reeba as well. I can't believe I lost you only after a month.

It looks like it has the candy-corn shaped eye stalks of an Ecuadorian. I'm no expert, but it looks like an E to me.

I would say E as well. Ruggies are more spindly.

Hello! You are in the USA, so you have Es Image

Edit: total tank trashers, highly recommend minimum of 10-12” of substrate, minimum of 10 gallons each and lots of protein and calcium. By following these guidelines I have never had an issue with any of mine digging up molters. :)

I have to have tank decor half buried in my sand, tied town to the tank, zip tied to each other or siliconed to something else my Es will dismantle everything in a few days. Its awesome because they are active for days at a time. they are just a bit high maintenance.

These guys are too cute! So far one, the bigger one, changed shells right away. The smaller baby is still in his pink painted shell Image they haven’t trashed much but I think one has gone under. There is so much Spanish moss and hidey holes it’s hard to tell who’s up all the time.
