Hello, this is so cool! I hope you had successful outcomes with it, no tank trashing :)

I always wanted an elegant setup that is like this, but my crabs are too unaware to care about not trashing everything! Everything would be wrecked in a few weeks if my guys were in there :)

Fantastic build thread, super fun!

Is the entire top half open, or do you have it closed in? Just wondering how the humidity keeps. :)

this tank is INCREDIBLE btw. Never seen anything like it! SO JEALOUS!  :D :D
Awww thank you! Sorry it’s been ages since I’ve been active. The kids school life has kept me busy. Yes the top half is enclosed with plexiglass. The humidity hold ok but I do wish it were better. I need to find a way to seal the sides better than the duct tape I’m using now. Have to replace it after every few feedings.

Aww thank you thank you! I have been a bit inactive lately. And they do trash some. I have to fix the ramp to the water every few days but right now a lot of my smaller crabs are down so all is well.

Lets see.... it’s been ages since I’ve updated. I need to post some pics. Not a lot has changed since the initial build but I did end up removing the spray foam shelf I built (they had started to try and chew on it) and redid the water tank, setting it up in the sand. And I did use the silicone after. For aquariums. As far as the cork board goes, I haven’t secured it super well. They do get behind there and hide. They use the wire mesh to climb up and down on. It makes quite the racket. Image

Do you think if you had used grout paint and silicone they would have been able to claw through it? (Asking for a friend before I invest a bunch of time and money into a similar project)
