I used to spray the tank for them...feed them daily, and yes, I had a heater for the tote as well. Now, they live in a large tote that is 50-60 gallons. It has eco earth in the bottom of it. filled with cork bark, oak twigs, oak leaves, cuttle bone, egg shells, coarse oyster shell. I open it once a week to feed them organic carrots, oatmeal and apples, The heat from those things breaking down or getting eaten is plenty - seriously - I feel heat hit my face when I open it. The tote just already has moisture from being closed. They are multiplying like crazy in there...so I'm doing something right.

Edit: I do also throw moss in there.
Pictures of your isopod tote?
I think I am overthinking it, but I only made it nice so I can maneuver through to get some out when I need them.

Once they start breeding it will be easy to get them out as you need them. Believe me - they will make home under the wood pieces. Then you can just pick the wood pieces up and they are on those! They LOVE cholla too - but I won't but cholla in my tote - LOL.
Truly blessed to have incredible creatures, wonderful friends and my amazing family in my life!! I'm very thankful & grateful for all of them! www.thehealthyhermit.com

I have about 150 of them now, and that’s not counting the tiny babies running around. I have about 500 babies now.

What do you want me to change or do?

Okay, I made some changes, and I think it looks great.
I am not going to change anything else.

You should have about 150~ I sent you about that many! Looks great- just add leaves, carrots, apples! Why do you have the separate container?

I have more than that probably, because I collected over 100 where I live.
I will add the leaves really soon, I actually gave them a bit of almond leaf for now.

The smaller container is for wild ones, and the other side is for yours. Each side has a lot in there! Although, there are some mixed between the two.

That number would eventually produce a lot more in the future.
I have about 150 adults, and over two thousand new babies.

Well, now after moving them to a 10 gallon, I learned that two moms are pregnant!
