What are common ways to make a second level?

Post by angelbearpuppy » Tue Jul 31, 2018 9:32 pm

I am interested in making a ledge or some sort if second level as my crabs love climbing...a lot. I always see them climbing. What are some ways you make / attach second levels. I am looking for a jumpping off point.

I tried suction cups, and had absolutely no success!

Most people use shower caddies to make a second level. I decided against it because i felt like they wouldn't use it. i went with more climbing items. You could use a net hung up, or a log turtle dock. maybe even flip a basket upside down and cut a hole for a door, it doubles as a hide and a 2nd level.

Would command hooks work better than suction cups to maximize space? I am willing to give it a try as mine always seem to be climbing on the few things I have in their

I've always used command hooks. But I've noticed that some fall due to humidity, so I added a drop of aquarium safe silicone and they seem to stick better that way. I had to wait 24 hours for it to set, but it was worth it in my opinion.
I don't have experience using suction cups so I can't give any advice for those. Sorry..
