What are the signs a crab is going to molt?
I have three new hermits, and this is my second night with them. Two are missing [probably buried] and the other was missing all day but came out once it was night. He's the boldest of the bunch and the only one with a name so far - Philip. How do I know if the others are molting or simply hiding?

You won't know, LOL. Either way, you are NOT going to dig them up. Time will tell if they come up sooner or stay down for a long time. Patience is hard, but is the key to crabbing. My two have been down since the end of June!

Wasn't planning on digging them up c: I'm just not sure if any of the shells that came with them from the previous owner are the right size for just a single step up.curlysister wrote:You won't know, LOL. Update: two of the three crabs appeared. One explored before disappearing again, the other was eating last I saw it.
