One of the hermits I've had the longest, Chobby, is a very strange white-orange-yellow color, and she always has been. She's gotten a bit more white over the years, I guess, but not drastically. I always assumed she was a purple pincher, but I suppose I could be wrong. But if she is, this is a very unnatural color, and she hasn't molted out of it. I would be concerned for her health, but she's been this was for the 5 years I've had her, and she is very active and eats well, and seems overall healthy. It's pretty weird. I'll put some pictures and see what you guys think.

Re: Crab always a weird color
She is a purple pincher. I wouldn't call her that abnormal, I've had a few over the years in those colors and white undersides are common. They really do come in a huge range of shades and color is rarely ever a concern. It could be diet related, even if you're feeding a varied diet, crabs can have favorite foods and can pig out when they're offered.
