My tank is back!!

Post by hayhay528 » Tue Sep 18, 2018 9:24 pm

If anyone saw my post in the emergency templates you know that I had a bacteria bloom scare this past week as well as a small amount of flooding.. yikes
I lost 1 of my 5 crabs who was molting that i had to dig up, the sand got too wet and dense and killed her. anyway I saved 3 of my babies who were above sand when all this happened and one other crab who i had to dig up that was molting. The molter is recovering and the 3 other are enjoying the new space i made them!!! (well they are crawling around the tank quick as ever so I'm pretty sure they are stressed and finding their new places but you get the idea)

here's the pics-
i decided to stay with my 45 or 55, not sure, tank even though i bought a 75 gallon with stand... now that I'm down to 4 crabs i think they can stay in this one for a while and i cannot imagine the flood/bloom happening in a bigger tank for me to deal with yet.. i'm so glad i saved so many accessories along the way, even stuff i thought i would never use.. i have only posted one of my setups but have changed some stuff along the way. i decided i really like a more natural look with lots of plants

this is the fresh water bowl, i have it on an upside down plastic storage bin i found at either walmart or big lots, it had holes on the sides so i zipped a bunch of plants to it for a more natural look. i like the idea of the fresh water being on a second level because i imagine in the wild they have to climb up from the shore to find freshwater, and then underneath makes a good hide cave

and this is the other corner with a shell shop, salt water down below, and a new wheel!!! my E Rick loves the wheel and we had to remove his old one from rusting, hopefully having this off the substrate will help!!

I love it! Everyone seems to do foliage so well. I can't seem to.

I’m not so great either....I’ve got some ideas but I’m afraid to disturb anything right now with 2 under in the area I’d like to make changes.

What an awesome set up though! Glad you were able to save your remaining crabs! How is the molter doing?
