Giant Blue Land Crab
Giant Blue Land Crab
Finally located some of these this summer. They were $40 and I regret just picking up one (a light blue female). I tried keeping it dry (damp sand) with a container to submerge in but it lost a leg after a few months (a sign of extreme stress in true crabs). I switched it to a shallow water tank like I keep other Cardisoma and it started to eat well and seems to be thriving. Its body (without the legs) is the size of a man's fist.

These sound so interesting! If you have the chance, I would love to see a pic of one!
