Making my own crab structures for crabitat--fimo ok?

Hey

I want to make my own little customized structures for the crabs. Just wondering what people would suggest--I was thinking of fimo? it says its non-toxic and once baked it would be pretty hard for a crab to break apart...any other suggestions?

I don't think fimo would be good for the crabs. I am not sure what types of dyes are used or what exactly it is made of. I think it is for craft sculpting, not a food grade material.

I like getting pieces of natural cholla wood and use zip ties in order to make climbing structures. It is all natural aside from the zipties. Also used fish netting is great for adding climbing surfaces too. We have also used aquarium silicone to attach shells to surfaces of store bought aquarium decorations. Just be sure the silicone is completely cured before adding it to the tank. Even using crafting mesh can be used for structures or for lining hamster wheels or making ramps for water dishes. I even made a cabin out of zoo meds cork background for my Halloween tank.
