Is this Normal?

I bought the smallest pp 2 weeks ago and have not seen the little herrmie since. Is he alive, is this normal?

Yes, crabs will dig to de-stress or to molt or just for fun. If molting, they can stay under for weeks or even months. Don't dig them up. Keep all your tank conditions proper, and they will come out when they are ready.

Yes. It is very common for new to you crabs to bury to destress and possibly molt. Most of the crabs I have and have fostered went under the minute they had access to adequate substrate.

Good to know. He's so tiny in a 75 gallon tank if he was dead I would never find him. Thanks!
