Rust

Post by IcedPineapple » Sat Sep 07, 2019 9:50 pm

One of my tanks is a small 10 gallon that has 3 itty bitty crabs occupying it. However, due to laziness on my part, the lid has started to rust a little bit. It is the kind that is metal wire, and my crabs do like to climb on it occasionally. Is the rust dangerous? Do I need to get a new lid? I can't seem to find anywhere if the rust is harmful or not. Better safe than sorry?

btw, yes, i cover the lid with plastic wrap to keep the humidity in

In my option, rust isnt that harmful. Is it desired, no, but will it kill them, most likely not.
