Safe silicone?

is this silicone safe? It says 100% silicone.

Looks good, I think. From my knowledge, any silicone that is all-in-all 100% silicone and nothing else is safe for use. No added chemicals or anything.

I personally use Marineland's Aquarium Silicone, but that was just a preference for me since I work at a pet store so have easy access and a discount, and am 100% positive that it's safe. In the end, 100% silicone is all the same stuff.

Remember not to use it in the tank when crabs are in there, and to let the objects air out for a few days prior to putting them in the tank.

Yes, I’m using it for a DIY popsicle craft. I will let it dry for a couple of days before putting it in

The mold-free guarantee may be an issue. If it has any kind of mold inhibitors, it should not be used.

I can’t tell, but it says 100% silicone and I think silicone is naturally mold free.

Maybe to be on the safe side. After it's all dried and cured, you should be good to trim any excess.

Like wodesorel stated earlier the silicone should be the type that does not have any type of mold or mildew inhibitors. Usually silicone will say it is safe to use in aquariums.

The stuff pictured says 10 years mold free. It has some form of mold inhibitor. I would not use it.

Like everyone else said, there should be no referral to mold resistance, mold inhibitor, mold whatever.

I was looking for Silicone most recently as well to reseal a tank.

This actually leaves you with very few choices. Most likely, the following types don't have mold inhibitors in their "basic" version.
- Construction Silicone
- doors, trims and window

Read every single line clearly,inclusing every word in caution. Some brands for the above mentioned have mold inhibitors. The brands GE and Mono didn't for the one in my area.

Also, if you are thinking of using a lot of Silicone, consider a caulking gun vs a squeeze tube cause you get 3x more every dollar spent.
