New crabs !

Yeah, most of my shells have been passed down from the generations of my crabbies. There's the one white one that all of my crabs try to wear-- whenever it's available someone snatches it!

Well, after being gone into the substrate for 4 weeks and 6 days.... Bashful is back. Saw him sitting on the lizard lounger 2nd level this morning. Haven't seen him again probably hiding somewhere. Tried to take welcome back photo this morning but was sitting in a horrible spot (lots of glare). Glad he made it back up. Was very concerned about him--quite small.

Anything to look for on him to confirm that it was indeed a molt that he was doing under there? and if it was indeed a molt--does that mean it was successful? (My old crab Hermy never molted and died as a result of PPS)

Happy is still down there.

Placed my first order with hermit crab patch yesterday. Was ALOT more then I'd thought it would be . Hope those guys like the shells and wood piece. Once I get the package from patch I'll get 3 more vines from Big Al Pets and re-do the entire crabitat. Considering getting another dish that is a corner one to use for shells or moss.

On another good note apparently my 12 inch stuffed crab was delivered yesterday. But, I have no idea where it is. My mom think its in the mail box near park but that's Canada post and UPS usually delivers to house. Last time someone received an amazon package it ended up at my neighbours house and she let it sit there for a day because she thought it was her daughters package and then finally had closer look and realized it was for my sister.

Freshly molted crabs will usually have more hair on their legs, and will have little sharp black toenails at the end of their legs.

I'm in Canada too, and between shipping and exchange, it's terrible ordering from the US. I have a food order in with Canadian Chubby Crabs - have you ordered from her yet? Her food isn't cheap, but it's cheaper than with US exchange and shipping, and I do like to support a Canadian Crab business. And my crabs love her food, she makes it all herself as she gets orders.

I haven’t, I’ve got plenty of food right now. So, won’t be needing to buy more food for awhile.

Guess I'll have to hope that Bashful makes an appearance this evening. Just checked inside the tank, under all the vines, in all the plants, under the climbing branches and in the hide and no bashful. Need to refill the water dishes and change the food in dish so, I will have another look for bashful (I want too see if I can see what your describing on him).

I’ve emailed hermit crab patch and asked them about how urgently they need them after molting etc. I’ve got plenty of things to feed them so I don’t need food just yet.

Also, I did research on the stuffed toy crab and I discovered that there’s a 12 inch one available. The one I bought initially was 7 inch. When I realized there was only two left in stock so I ordered it. Kind of wishing they would just put all my order stuff in one box and ship that. Couple weeks ago I was literally getting a package everyday from amazon. My mom was like: Stop buying stuff for your crabs!!!!

Wonder how much longer coronavirus is going to be around for. Every day it’s seems to be worse and worse were I live. I feel so bad for all my coworkers that have to go to work. Wish my company would just close up but they won’t cause they are getting tons of orders in. Even without the virus they over-work the same people.

I know what you mean. I am in the process of upgrading to a 55 gal. And I keep ordering different things. Like corner shower caddy’s for moss pits, or a hamster wheel, or a dual outlet air pump, and that’s just a few of them. I was getting packages every day and then yesterday when one came my mom assumed it was for me and I said that I had got everything that I had ordered.

Bashful was climbing upside down on the underside of the second level I wasn’t sure if I should rescue him or not. Then he moved towards the back were the moss dish is.

I put new food in yesterday afternoon. Hope they are small enough for him to pick up. Might pull food out today and break it up more.

Once I get those items from hermit crab patch I’ll order from big als some vines and maybe 2 of the tropical mix ins

No need to rescue them. They're also called tree climbers. Unless they actually get stuck between 2 items. And their claws can break apart food no problem.
