Coral Has Eggs

I'm so happy to announce that my PP (Coral) is pregnant with eggs. They are in the back of her shell and are green. I'll be positing pictures soon. The father is a Viola (Claud) who we used to think was Claudia because she or he had gonephores. This has been very interesting to see happen.

Any advice on what to do from here would be greatly appreciated. I have no idea what to do beyond putting the eggs in a separate tank.

Wow that’s awesome I have always wanted for mine to start breeding. I have no experience sorry but you could look at Mary Akers on YouTube. I’m not any help but, I just wanted to say

The photos you've posted of them previously are both of purple pinchers. I would suggest reading Mary's pinned posts and her videos on youtube. Right now, the best suggestions of raising them involve a lot of work. PPs also have extended larvael forms, so it takes longer to get them to land.

Coral has been burrowed for at least three days now. They won't molt while carrying eggs, right?

No, I dont think so. They moult in order for the males to fertilize the females I believe. But even then, crabs do burrow for various reasons besides moulting.

I thought so I just wanted to be sure. Would she burrow to protect her eggs?

She could. Most animals that carry there young would tend to have some instincts to protect them until they are old enough or in the cravs case, physically unable to once they hatch in the water.

Her eggs are gone, unfortunately. I don’t see them anymore.

It seems like she probably ended up rubbing them off somewhere or they just fell out on there own, and the other crabs ate them. That seems to be a common thing with eggs in captivity.

But regardless, if you was able to get eggs in captivity that's a sign you're doing things right.
