molt-inhibiting hormone..!

Post by cro » Tue Jul 14, 2020 3:48 am

I think my hermit crab has got problem with molt-inhibiting hormone.
She's digging again.I did it once a month from January this year. (She's already done seven times this year.)
She used to do it once every five months until last year.
she might doesn't get enough calcium?
I'm not sure ..but I've heard that If there's a lack of calcium, they molt more frequently... I'm so worry about this..

Digging doesn’t always equate to molting. Sometimes it’s stress-related or the crab is just bored.

Also, they can’t molt with a calcium deficiency since they need calcium to grow their exoskeleton.

When she digs, does she bury herself? How long does she stay under, before coming back up?
