It looks great! Image
Did you have to take the sand out to move it? If not, then you must be Superwoman lol!

haha yeah sand and everything
with two people to carry it it’s not too heavy
it’s just super awkward moving especially down stairs lol!

haha thank you!
also what size/ kind of water bowls do u use? i know most use tupperware (so do i in my other tank) but i feel i can’t find the right size for my tank because they r too big and take up room or too small (they are still tall enough but if they were bigger it would be more comfortable for the crabs)

Yw!

I use the containers that are a little bigger than sandwich size. I have a plastic riser in the right corner that is 8" high. I put the fresh water underneath and the salt water on top. This helps free up space in the tank. 55 gals are narrow, so I know it's tough to make room for wider stuff.

Thanks! I've added more sand since that pic too. They were excavating like crazy that week! I've also added another little shell shop to the egg crate in the background. Image

idk about you but shell shops are another hard thing to do if u have a narrow tank like our 55 gals (unless u don’t put them on the floor of your tank) i find it easy to use those long but thin desk drawer organizers (or pill bottle organizers) i guess you call them
they were cheap from the drug store but are like slit open on the sides and the crabs love the climb into them
i just put them right against the wall of my tank
i used to have like three in a 55 gal and they fit a lot of shell and didn’t take up much room
i always loved those cornered shower trays but i can never find one

I agree. I have one of those long/thin organizers attached to the egg crate. I also have 4 small containers as shell shops/2nd levels that I found at the dollar store. They're appx 3x4". I still had a ton of shells just hanging out, so I have a 2x6" container on the sand to hold them.

My tank is in my classroom. I'm lucky to have a stand-alone building all to myself with two adjoining classrooms. I have the critters who need supplemental heat on one side (crabs, reptiles, fish, etc.) and the critters who do not need supplemental heating (rabbits, guinea pigs, other mammals) on the other. I call it the cool side and the warm side.
