Hermit crab chop

Post by TeaDragon » Fri Jun 18, 2021 7:49 pm

Hey there,
So after reviewing some of the food pyramids provided in the food section, I thought about making something for my crabs akin to bird chop. That is, to prepare and freeze a large batch of fresh food like mushroom, cooked chicken and others to ensure that my lil guys get all that they need everyday.
Has anyone tried this before?
I'll let everyone know how it goes, today I'm going to make a list of ingredients and maybe prepare a batch if time allows.

So, I didn't have everything I wanted to use,but that's alright.
Initially I wanted to use:
25g Egg
25g Salmon
10g Broccoli
10g Kale
40g Cuttle bone
30g Sweet potato
30g mixed berries
I didn't have salmon nor sweet potato to spare, so instead just used 2 eggs instead of 25g and used more berries.
I finely chopped and ground down the ingredients and chucked them in the pan. The eggs sorta worked as a type of binder and brought it all together.

I am aware it looks kinda nasty lol.
But my opinion doesn't matter. I'll give some to Gourden and Knoppie, see what they think. Crossing fingers.

Hey there! Unfortunately, none of them seem to like it very much. Maybe I'm just mixing the wrong things together, but idk.Maybe they're just picky. I'll try a different recipe another time

I think it's great idea. I sometimes make my food up early for the week. I tend to give them diff. Things each day or two. Hey maybe they did like it, I don't always see mine eat. If not maybe it's cuz they couldn't pick out what they didn't like? Maybe the salmon would have given it that fishy smell they love(well most they are all diff really) mine love shrimp. Keep trying! Try to serve a few those things amd see if you can find what they may not have liked..but like I said you never know, they may have liked it.
