Can I catch wild isopods?

Post by Hermie13 » Thu Jul 01, 2021 9:34 am

I was gone on vacation and had a bunch of what i think are food mites appear. I know they’re harmless, but they gross me out lol. Will getting isopods curb the population? Also, can I catch wild ones in my backyard or should I order them instead? And where’s the best place to buy some? Thanks!

Idk... I had had a food mite explosion and I got ONE wild rolly polly. It did not really help. I heard if you put TWO in there crabitat a month later there would be two hundred!!!!! Good luck! :)

Wild ones are not recommended, because they are crustaceans like the hermit crabs and they might carry diseases that could harm your crab(s). There are people who sell captive-bred ones.
