I love how you are getting them used to your presence and exploring their personalities! I too, have only had my crabs for a short time, but already through observation I can tell that they have very distinct personalities and confidence levels. I would love to handle them at some point in the future, but for now we are all getting settled and used to each other, so reading this has me fascinated.

Thank you and good luck with your newbies! Also, does anyone else feel like more chunky crabs are more chill about handling? I adopted Sam recently, and he is ONE CHUNKY CRAB. But he is totally chill on my hand. Same with my Leo.

I don't know, Eugene is pretty big but ever since he molted it's like he's a super duper chicken

I handle my crabs a bit too. I’ll change their food and redecorate the tank and if they climb on my hand I let them. One of my crabs, Blue, climbed on my hand and I put his old shell on my hand to see how big his difference was and he changed shells on my hand! I was shocked.

wow! Once a crab changed shells with the tank lid open and my hand right nearby, but that must have been so weird!!!! And cool!!!!!!
