What are Your Crabs’ Favorite Foods?

Mine love chicken bone marrow, avocado, and butternut squash the most. They also go pretty crazy over most leafy greens.

Always love hearing favorite foods and realizing mine have never tried certain things, like butternut squash!

Mine love all forms of corn and coconut (even coconut oil!), a mineral powder blend, and moss.

How do you do chicken bones marrow and buy it from? I recently bought dog chew/treats of different animal parts to try. So far I smashed the duck feet into smaller pieces to give just a small amount and they haven't touched yet that I know of. I wonder if there is some bone marrow in the portion I gave bc I cracked the bone open and it looked moist inside.

I never thought of butternut squash until my kids got box turtles, and the squash is their main staple. So I kill 2 birds with one stone there. I also give them freeze dried salmon that I buy for my dogs (I get it in the cat section). I do the same thing with the chicken bone, I buy unseasoned rotisserie chicken from the grocery store for our dinner and break the leg bone with a hammer.

The smashed duck feet sounds like a great idea, it seems like there must be some marrow exposed that way.
My crab's favorite is a "strawberry and coconut powder" treat from the chain pet store, but she also really likes bloodworms, and she also seems to like ground flaxseed and coconut oil too! Those two are items I was able to find in "organic" form at the grocery store, that she smushes around and they seem to disappear a bit, though it's hard to tell for sure. Apple slices go over really well too.

mine like dried shredded coconut and watermelon. and one time i gave them a bit of cooked pasta with ground beef and crushed tomatoes (mixed together), and they enjoyed that too.

I will be giving mine butternut squash as soon as it's in season!

Mine love Mealworms. One absolutely adores cheese which I only give monthly. When I gave them some yesterday, Sheldon stole the whole piece and retreated back to his lair to eat in peace. LOL!

My hermies LOVE coconut, the very first (and so far only) fight they ever had was over coconut (and the food dished filled with fresh coconut was only a few inches away )

One of mine steals the nuts out of the food dish and will carry it around for days nibbling on it.

i put it in a little half oyster shell by itself as a treat every once in a while

Do they get it dirty with substrate pretty quickly? I've been thinking of giving my hermies honey but don't want a big mess.
