This is Ian

Post by Crabby Grammy » Sat Oct 08, 2022 1:33 pm

This is Ian. We named him after the hurricane since we got him the day before it hit Myrtle Beach where we were vacationing. We all hunkered down and weathered the storm together. Myrtle has been MIA for 4 days now. As soon as she surfaces I'll try to post a pic of her. I'm not sure if she buried to de-stress or if actually having some substrate triggered her to molt. We've literally only had them a week and a half. They went from the beach store wire coup, to a plastic critter carrier, a 6 hour car ride, 4 more days in the carrier to finally moving to their new crabitat. Ian's doing fine but Myrtle went underground 4 days ago. Funny thing is idk if they are male or female so their names might not even be gender appropriate lol.

he's such a cute little guy. I say that about all crabs but he really is! also I think that name is very fitting!

wishing Myrtle a good molt (assuming she isn't just destressing for a bit)

Thank you 😊 My camera really didn't do him justice. He's a vivid orangish red color.

My crabs are Sonny and Cher. I have had them for 12 years and have never checked to see if they are male or female, and it doesn't really matter to me at all! LOL!

Adorable crabby!
I named one of my crabs Kaulder (from the main character in The Witch Hunter movie). I looked later and saw he was a she. I kept the name because I loved it and figured she doesn't mind what I call her as long as I call her for dinner lol!

I named one of mine Mitchell (from an Adventures in Odyssey character). Later realized he was a she, so that morphed into Mitchelle.
