A standard 55 gallon tank is 12x48, and 21 high. A tank that is 12x24 is only a 20 gallon tall.

The largest size that fits on a standard 12 inch tank, are the 25 gallon zoomed reptihabitats which are 12x30. The next size down are the minis at 12x12. Most front opening terrariums are going to be 18 inches wide instead, making them matches for 40 gallon breeders or 75/90 gallons.
