Can i use a fish water purifier to purify my hermit crab water?

I always wondered if i could use the same water purifier as my fish water for my hermit crab water because i need to give them more water every 2 days.

Then yes, it should be fine for your hermit crabs, just make sure you use the rate ratio of water to purifier and let the water sit before putting it in the tank

Hi Tim,

If you have public water, it is likely your water contains chloramine ( you can call your local water company to check though). According to the water care sheet:
"Remember that if you have chloramine in your water then you need a product that removes both chlorine/chloramine AND removes or neutralizes ammonia, or the water will not be safe."

Your water conditioner does not neutralize the remaining ammonia:

"Chlorine/Chloramine means that it removes chlorine and breaks the chlorine-ammonia bond only, it will not remove the remaining ammonia.
Ammonia means that it also neutralizes that remaining ammonia.
Heavy Metals means it neutralizes any heavy metals.
Slime Coat is any type of slime coat.

No worries. Do you have public water? If so that means you likely have chloramine in your water. When your current dechlorinator breaks the chloramine down, ammonia is left. You need a dechlorinator that will also neutralize that ammonia. Your dechlorinator doesn't do that. It doesn't make your water completely safe because it will leave behind that ammonia. Seachem Prime will do everything, including break down/neutralize the ammonia. If you have well water, you don't have to worry about chloramine, and your current dechlorinator will work fine.

Can i use rainwater that comes from my gutters on my house for them to drink?

I'd skip the rainwater. Too much pollution etc can get in there from touching the house and whatnot. I'd stick with Prime and tap water.
