Bug Identification Help!!!

Post by crabbyvee » Tue Mar 28, 2023 8:16 pm

Hey guys! I need help identifying what bugs these are! I googled and I think they are springtails but wanted some other opinions. Sometimes their bodies can be black too and not completely clear like the one in the pic/ video, but they generally have this same elongated shape. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... 2xhoO_HkPD

I know springtails are harmless so hopefully that's what they are. Thanks!

I'm not great at identification, but if I had to take an educated guess I'd say springtails.

Given how clear cut the head is from the abdomen, I'd go with a booklice of some sort. Totally harmless to the crabs and any other animal, they're much like springtails in that they like the warmth and humidity of the tank.
