Climbing wall DIY?

So, I found some plastic mesh on Amazon but I wanted to double check it here. I want to suction it to the wall so they can climb on it, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea since it's plastic and some of the reviews say it smells like formaldehyde. Any advice?

Plastic mesh is safe. Any plastic will have a bit of a smell to it, especially if it has been packaged in more plastic.
