Hermit Crabs and Peanut Butter

What brand of peanut butter would be best to feed to my hermit crabs?

There is no 'best' brand. Some people choose to feed natural (ie- peanuts only) peanut butter.

I feed them either Kirkland organic (red label, ingredients peanuts and sea salt), or Trader Joe's (green label, ingredients peanuts).

[We usually have at least 3 kinds of pb plus almond butter in our fridge & pantry, so none of it is bought specifically for crabs!]

Not saying those brands are any better, but suggesting the ones I use!

I do have the Kirkland one! I have heard that you shouldn’t feed hermit crabs peanut butter with anything other than peanuts in it. I have heard it may hurt them however I will do more research! Thanks!

What brand of peanut butter would be best to feed to my hermit crabs?

I'm deadly allergic to tree nuts, so I never feed my crabs anything with nuts in it (which can make buying foods a challenge sometimes!), so I don't feed my crabs peanut butter, even though I'm not allergic to peanuts, most peanut butter is cross contaminated and I don't feel comfortable eating it myself. I feed my biggest crab, Frog a tiny drop of honey every few days, he runs to my hand when I put it in the tank, and then he sits on my hand and eats his honey off of the mini spoon, it makes my heart so happy! He get a little sticky, but washes it off in the saltwater and freshwater pools when he goes back into the tank because a whole bunch of sand sticks to him! I give hims 100% natrual, unfiltered honey, and it's one of his favorite treats! I definitely recommend trying it with your crabs!

Frog loves his honey! Sometimes I see him put his mouth down to eat it, or he scoops it into his mouth with his small pincher, it's adorable! He even clings onto the mini spoon, once I tried to put him back in the tank thinking snack time was over and clung onto the mini spoon and kept eating, so I put him back on my hand and let him finish his snack!

I gave my crabs honey! Flamey Jr was using her little pincher to scoop it and eat it! It was so cute!
