Fruit fly eggs
Fruit fly eggs
I came back from a trip and was going to clean up and do the upkeep on my tank and noticed eggs or larvae all over everything. They are stuck to the rim of the tank, in the shells, in the plants, the substrate is ruined! I have had a fruit fly problem to this summer and I have already deep cleaned the tank once before I left... Now what do I do to clean them off!?

Re: Fruit fly eggs
Physical scrubbing is the only way I found. Soaking to soften first helped a little, vinegar can help too. On flat spots like on the glass, a razor blade will make quick work of it.
They don't bury into the substrate, so just scraping off the first 1/2 inch to an inch should be enough to take care of any stragglers!
