Heating up a crab tank
I recently upgraded my hermit crabs tank from a 20 long to a 29 gallon tank. I use to use a heat lamp to help with the heat in the tank during the winter time but I am not able to use my heat lamp now due to the size of the tank and where I have it. I currently have a ultratherm heating pad that online says is the correct size for a 29 gallon tank. I have also put some tin foil on the back of the tank to help insulate the heating pad but I haven’t seen any change in temperature since I did that. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could insulate my tank better?

What is the temp inside the tank? What is your room temp?
The size of the UTH will be for reptiles, not using it like we do for hermit crabs. What are the dimensions of the one you got?

The tank's temperature is 80 degrees and my room is around 75 degrees. I got my UTH from a site called Bean Farm and they have a chart for what size UTH you should use for different crabitat sizes. Mine is a 6x23.

Oh, right on! Well, you are good to go then! 80 is a good temp. If your room becomes cooler, and the tank temp drops, you can add insulation to the sides as well as the back of the tank. And then add a folded up blanket on the top as well. But as it is now, you don't need it any warmer!
