Three crabs dead but one fine
Three crabs dead but one fine
In the last three months, three of my hermit crabs have passed away. I found them naked and far away from their shells. By the time I found them, it was too late to try and get them back into a shell. My other crab, who’s about twice the size as the others, is doing perfectly fine. She’s still crawling around and eating and such. I’m not sure what happened. I had those crabs for over a year and a half, and they each molted at least four times with no problems. Someone please tell me what’s wrong before I get new crabs! I have about 5 inches of substrate, two water dishes (fresh and salt) deep enough for the crabs to fully submerge. And I keep the humidity around 80.

I know it's not an emergency situation, but the help request template asks all the questions we need to get a sense of what's going on with your enclosure and your hermits. Sometimes it can be something small that can be affecting them over time.
