I am so very happy to say that both of my hermit crabs finished/are nearly finished with molting! It's been nearly two months without hearing any movement in my tank, and today while adding some water to my substrate, I poured just a bit over the tunnel area I mentioned in my previous topic, and then I heard crab movement! I also heard digging elsewhere in the tank, so my newer and smaller crab is also alive as well!
I don't know how much longer they will be beneath the substrate, so for now I'll be leaving my crabs alone and patiently waiting for them to come back to the surface. I can't wait to see them again, it's been a long while and I was so worried that my crabs might not make it.

Scuttle just dug himself out, he's back on the surface crawling around and exploring. He's looking a little pale though. Is the paleness normal?

Re: Update on Molting Crabs!
Sometimes the coloration fluctuates between molts, especially in smaller crabs. May not necessarily be a bad thing if activity levels are normal but try to make sure a nutritious diet is provided

Re: Update on Molting Crabs!
I recently put out extra bits of fruits and veggies in my food dishes, and added small slices of salmon (the fish) to the mix for extra nutrients just in case.
Scuttle seems to really like the salmon, I saw him nibbling on it before he started climbing on things and digging small holes everywhere
I haven't seen my smaller hermie yet, but I'll wait patiently and see if he comes up to the surface in the next week or so.
