Looked it up apparently to much oil can kill then, some people recommend giving them oily foods like coconut but I was just wondering if any of guys do this and if it will make your crab live longer
I’ve never heard of giving crabs oil, other than what oils they would naturally get from their food. I would be highly skeptical of anyone suggesting you put essential oils in your crabitat tbh. I think as long as you feed a balanced diet you’ll be fine
Some crabs will consume small amounts of oil but they don’t need an entire line of gourmet oils like that. I highly doubt too much oil will kill them (unless that’s all they get to eat or they fall into a tub of it) but a bit of olive oil is probably as much as I would offer
An entire line of gourmet oils for crabs sounds like overkill! (it's an entertaining thought though.) Also I'm not sure from the image, but those look kind of like "high-end" oils with extra stuff added so I would be wary of possible additives that might not be crab-friendly.
I will say though, I do have a squeeze-pack of Nutiva organic coconut oil from Whole Foods ("virgin" style, and it's organic). It has only one ingredient so seems really safe. I give a dab to my crab every couple weeks. I really have no idea if she eats it though.
