Mold on wood in tank

Post by Justneedhelp » Thu Jul 11, 2024 5:11 pm

I had a piece of wood in my tank for my hermit crab to climb on and it got moldy and I'm not sure why that happened, is there anyway to prevent this for happening again? Or should I just switch to plastic climbing toys?

Mold is common and not harmful to crabs. If it's on wood, you can try boiling or soaking in heavily salted water, then allowing to dry before putting it in your tank.
