Cholla Wood Prep

Post by ChonkyCrabsLover » Fri Aug 23, 2024 11:50 am

Hello! I am planning to add cholla wood to my tank (from Chewy) for them to climb to their second level. I am wondering what I should do to prep it for their tank? When I search it up, I only find how to prep it for an aquarium. What should I do to make the cholla wood safe for crabs? Thank you!

I boiled my cholla wood for 5-10mins and it is doing good.

I think I just put mine straight into the tank with no prep.
If you are worried about mold, you can soak it in salt water then let it dry before putting it in the tank.

I have surprisingly never had mold in my tank. I heard lots of crabbers have mold trouble. I guess I’m just lucky. Thanks!
