Hampster wheel
I recently got a plastic hampster wheel from a friend for my crabs.
Do I need to make any modifications to it before I put it in their cage?

Re: Hampster wheel
You could attach some craft mesh to the inside to make it easier to climb. I think it should be fine by itself though.
I love my two cool crabs Zote and Fizban.

Re: Hampster wheel
I second the craft mesh, I did that to my wheel so the crabs can grip it more easily and spread out their legs a bit. Does take a little craftiness though

Thank you! The pictures are helpful!
Should I put craft mesh on one of the saucer-type wheels?

I think you can, but I have seen videos of crabs walking on saucers just fine. I think most people just leave the saucers.
