Molting

Post by MTTheDude » Mon May 12, 2025 11:13 am

Hello, My hermit crab The Dude has gone done for a molt. He is the only hermie in the tank. Do I keep the salt and fresh water pools filled and changed out? Or do I wait for him to reappear?

I usually just refill them without taking the bowls out of the tank when one of mine is molting, then when they come up I change all of the water.

Because you never know when they will come up, it is advisable to keep water and some food in the tank. Many of us leave some dried food, which will stay good longer than fresh.
