I bought one and I boiled it in de-chlor salt water like I do with all the crab stuff (shells, decorations, etc') and it has a very heavy plastic smell to it. Just wondering if anyone else has one of these. If it weren't for the smell I would put it in the crabitat.
Is this water dish safe?
The link said it was made with resin... that's safe for crabbies. Let it cool off and it won't smell so much. Mine did that when boiled too.

My water dishes are in the substrate... meaning the tops of them are at substrate level. I like it that way so they don't dig under it all the time. That got annoying to me. Hehe... They do drag in a lot more sand this way... but... eh... it's easy to clean. I empty the dishes with turkey basters and use a dry paper towel to wipe them out... then just refill and done.
I do not have that exact dish... mine are just made with resin though.
